-->I’m sitting here watching Shrek and I was just thinking how it’s funny that donkey’s voice is Eddie Murphy. I’m certain someone got angry saying “why’s it gotta be the voice of a black man?” as if the voice of a Black man hasn’t repetitively been used as the voice of God in many movies.

Is the Universe Alive?
To All God's Children,
-->If a definition of God is that there is a superior being then there’s a simple answer to all this. The universe is a superior being and thus there is at least one and so that means there is a God. The universe just is so God just is. We all just exist. There’s no more thought needed than that. It’s funny that we argue about whether there is a superior being, but we’ve been looking at it everyday. My mother taught me in Sunday school that God was omnipresent and omniscient, but I don’t think I understood that until recently. Everything, everywhere, and every particle of your being is apart of a greater being.
-->For those against the universe is God argument: there are bodies of matter that are superior in size to us; and who are we to say that stars and planets have no consciousness or no self-awareness? Their self-awareness might not be the same as ours. We can look into the mirror and recognize ourselves and so do dolphins, and apes. There’s also a funny looking species of bird that also is self-aware, but I can’t remember its name. Perhaps the universe isn’t aware of itself but still has awareness such as plants have awareness, but cannot move and interact in the same way that animals do. Some evidence of the universe being God is it’s greater than us in size, we were created and born within it; and our minds and energy gives the universe its life.
-->And does being self-aware really mean that we’re alive? Aren’t we just a collection of organs and smaller organisms (e.g. good and bad bacteria)? Even a major corporation could be considered alive because it has a “body” comprised of a head (i.e. CEOs), a heart (i.e. office workers) and a circulatory system (i.e. the elevator system; just kidding on that last one). I guess the microorganisms living on the corporate body are all the little factory workers. Not very many people would argue with me when they say they are alive. So if the universe is comprised of many of the same smaller bits that our bodies are constructed of then why can’t the universe itself be a living superior being – a God? I’ve found a God and I believe it’s the same God that the ancient people worshipped with their fire and rain gods.

Question involving the Big Bang theory
To All God's Children,
-->Think about this. We started out as a lump of matter that exploded into all that we see today. Okay, great. But who created this clump of matter? No one knows, but if matter can’t be created then the theory would suggest that no one did. Matter just is, as the universe just exists.
Big bang theory doesn’t explain it all anyway, because if we started as a large mass of matter (like Pangaea forming the continents) and then exploded in all stars, planets, and material in the universe where did the original blob of matter originate? Who created it? God? Then who created God? If God has no creator and It could not simply created Itself, then It has no beginning or end either. You see, it’s a never ending loop that makes no sense.
-->For a while in my life, it was hard to look at Jesus Christ in the stain glass windows. I spent most of my life worshipping him. When I was younger I told people I was Baptist just because that was the religion of my parents. If anyone had asked me what Baptists believed I wouldn’t have been able to tell him or her. There are people praise him like the incarnation of God. Some people believe that he is the son of God. Others believe that he is a messenger of God. If anything, I know Jesus was a messenger of truth. To know truth is to know of God.

Jesus: The Spiritual Teacher
To All God's Children,
-->A long time ago I once believed, in opposition to a friend of mine, that Jesus did not have to do what he did. As a human he had the right to live a normal life just as anyone else does. That’s what makes us human – our ability to choose what we want to do. If Jesus had been tempted by the devil when he was on the mountain he would have completely abandoned his messiah mission.
Therefore, because he carried out his mission to spread the word, did not abandon his duties, and whether you believe he is the messiah or not, brought light and life to so many people who believe, he is the greatest man and perhaps the most influential man to ever walk the earth. For God sake, they started time all over again in his name.
Even if you don’t believe in him or agree with him you should respect him as a spiritual teacher - and no I'm not a hardcore conservative Christian. For your wisdom, grace, and the gallant reception of such a humiliating death, Jesus is one of the most influential people in my life. Thank you, Jesus.

Faith: Believing in the Unseen

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” ~ Bible. (You know you’re lazy when you cite the whole Bible instead of finding the exact scripture.)
The point of faith in religion is to believe in the unseen. If God were some prodigious being hovering in the clouds like the sun that followed us everywhere we went, there would be no point to faith. You would be forced to believe in God, but you wouldn’t necessarily have to worship Him. Just like many rulers have existed not all have had one hundred percent approval ratings.

The Atheist versus The Religious

I believe atheists are no different than the people who are religious. They hold things as sacred, but in a different way. This sacred thing is valuable to them, for example their children. Whereas religious people would find comfort through their God, the atheist must find reassurance for life's hardships by another means.

The Definition of God
To All God's Children,
-->I’m convinced that many philosophers are wrong. Just because the definition of a certain being is not true in all cases doesn’t mean that being doesn’t exist. However, what it might mean is that the definition of the being is wrong. God is all good, but because there is evil in the world God does not exist according to a Frenchman named Sartre. Well that’s just stupid; I can understand the idea that the Christian God is “all good” and that it’s logical for an omnipresent being to allow evil in its being. There’s so much that lies beyond what humans know there’s no way anyone can prove that God does not exist from such a simple statement.
Maybe God should not be defined as an “all good” being. The Taoists believe that there is a balance of good and bad like in the yin yang. Good vs. evil is all relative to your perspective of whether the action helps or harms you. If you label something as good then you must have something as evil. It makes the most sense to just not label it either way. But I guess calling God the all-powerful “neutral” would just sound lame.
Whatever, I’m getting off track, but essentially what I’m trying to say is that our definition of God might be wrong because; for one, God lies outside our understanding and therefore nearly impossible to limit him to a particular definition. I believe God should be defined as a spirit that lies beyond us, but within us – a disembodied current of life force thriving at the very core of existence. God is everywhere because the spirit is all matter thus we are included into its being; for we are nothing, but conscious matter ourselves.

-->As a child, when I thought of God I thought of a man watching an ant on a blade of grass. The ant is the scout and she needs to tell her sisters if the rain is coming so they can go hide. The man knows the rain is coming for the gray clouds, but has no means of communicating with the ant to tell her troubles coming. The man is like God and we are like the ant. God watches over us and knows when we’re about to do something wrong. He guides us only if we’ll accept it or can understand the message.

Religion has already explained for everything that science wants to discover. Scientists feel uncomfortable claiming that God invented everything because they have no empirical proof. Honestly, evolution is something that Darwin may have started serious conceptualization for, but it remains a mystery with several theories, but no laws. How and why did we evolve to become humans? Everyone who knows the real answers are dead and lost to our ancestors.
Who or what created the universe and why does it exist? Even Einstein said that the more he gazed at the stars the more he believed in God. There are just too many things that are left unexplained that scientists could ever hope to discover the answers to.
